Content Marketing for SEO Purposes

Are you looking to use content marketing to improve your SEO? Well, as an Orange County Web Design Agency, we’ve noticed several things over the years that we wanted to share with you on this topic. The most important thing may seem quite simple, but it’s the most important because it will dictate how effective and how accurate your copy is. Ready? Here it is: you need to be passionate and knowledgable about the product or services that you offer. You won’t be successful if you don’t know what you’re talking about- your audience is coming to you for expert advice. If they don’t get that, then you will lose credibility and potential customers. If you’re not an expert, find one who is within your company to create your marketing content.

This one, too, may seem fairly simple, but infuse your content with the keywords your audience is searching for. It can be difficult sometimes to know what words and terms people are searching for, how effective they will be, and how they will affect your content marketing. Here at Zinc Solutions, we frequently recommend our clients use Google AdWords to get insight into this information. Once you’ve identified keywords that are well searched and relevant to your offerings, make sure you use them in the paragraphs you’re writing. A word of advice, though. Don’t load your content full of these keywords. Use them naturally and where they make sense so your audience isn’t put off by sentences that read poorly.

You will also need to clearly understand your audience. To be successful in content marketing for SEO, you need to know exactly who needs your service and/or product, what their interests are, what age demographic they fall into, what kind of material they like to read, etc. For example, if you write fluffy, light, and frilly content on a website that is geared towards engineers or mechanics, then what you’re presenting is not going to have the desired effect. Write to engage with your target audience. Write in a language  they will understand, and include terms they will recognize. Ideally, those terms should also be what they’re typing into search engines.
